Small One-Thread Mochila
Description
Helix is defined by motion and contrast. Bold black and ivory diagonal bands wrap the body in a repeating rhythm, creating a sense of rotation and flow. The pattern feels graphic and modern, yet deeply rooted in traditional Wayuu geometry.
Handwoven using the traditional one-thread technique, this mochila demonstrates excellent control and consistency at a small scale. The spiral base features a radiating sunburst motif, with fine white accents carefully placed within the black field—an element that requires precision and steady tension throughout the weave. Finished with a woven strap, drawstring closure, and dual tassels, it’s compact but visually striking.
Minimal, versatile, and architectural, Helix is an everyday small that feels intentional rather than simple.
